Guys, we have more football. Tonight, The Spring League kicks off on Fox Sports 1. Every professional league that has been developed, including the Canadian Football League, American Alliance of Football, and the XFL have delivered players additional opportunities to compete in the NFL. The Spring League is no exception, it too has produced NFL caliber players from it’s ranks.

Every week, I will be updating my big board of prospects in The Spring League. As of now, twenty players made the cut and have player profiles being prepared in my notes. Undoubtedly, after the first week of action, this list will expand and hopefully will continue to expand throughout the season.

Week one Schedule

The Spring League is broken into two divisions that will not see each other except at the end of the season for a Championship game on June 19th. The Indianapolis Division will play first and will be performing in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Houston Division plays second, features more of the prominent talent in the league, and will play in Texas.

Indianapolis Division

• 5/6 7PM ET (FS1) – Alphas VS Aviators

These are two teams I’m looking forward to getting more familiar with. Everyone remembers the hype that once surrounded both Keller Chryst and Brian Lewerke as NFL prospects (RIP Kyle Crabbs). This is a good opportunity to see these guys in action outside of their college systems and see if there has been any growth.

• 5/6 10 PM ET (FS1) – Linemen VS Conquerors

There are several guys that I have written down to watch in this game. For the Linemen, who I think has one of the best rosters in this league, watch OT Drew Richmond, RB Tra Minter, as well as defensive backs Manny Bunch and Vince Calhoun. The Conquerors have the most versatile lineman in this league, John Yarbrough, on their side and should be dominant.

Houston Division

• 5/7 9:30 PM ET (FS1) – Sea Lions VS Blues

The Sea Lions have my #1 overall prospect on their roster, WR Kendrick Rogers, who has the highest upside out of anyone in this league. Cornerback Levonta Taylor has a very good chance to be the best defender in this league as well, as his college tape at Florida State was solid. Don’t forget about running back LaDarius Galloway, an intriguing prospect from Tennessee-Martin, who has spent some time playing in the CFL as well.

As for the Blues, they didn’t land anyone on my top ten list but have a couple of intriguing prospects as well. Offensive lineman Abdul Beachum out of Kansas State is an intriguing high upside guy to me. If he puts it together he could be a solid backup in the NFL. Then, don’t forget about wide receiver Cedric Byrd who has upside as well. The biggest question will be who takes the field at quarterback, as it’s down to Deondre Francois or Eric Dungey. Either prospect could be on the big board next week with an outstanding week one performance.

Game of the Week

• 5/8 3 PM ET (FOX) – Generals VS Jousters

The primetime slot will feature some of the better talents in the league. On the General’s side, we have a couple of intriguing defensive backs in Nevelle Clarke and Evan Worthington. Both could easily be back in the NFL. Tight end Sal Cannella needs repetition at his new position, so he has a good opportunity to show he can block inline and be a reliable receiver. Then defensive lineman Ethan Westbrooks, to me, is the most promising defensive lineman in the league.

On the Jousters side, it’s going to be all about the offense. Two of the top three receivers in the league play there, between Anthony Ratliff-Williams and Johnathon Johnson. Luis Perez, an outstanding developmental quarterback, should be the starter throwing. Then, watch offensive lineman Hunter Watts who should be among the league’s outstanding talent.
