Summer Scouting notes: QB Bo Nix, Auburn

Has some velocity to drive the football. Flashes some special arm talent but was very seldom asked to use it. The deep ball seems to really lack drive. Arm strength loses power beyond 20 yards… Shows some touch ability but is very inconsistent… Awkward release motion that really puts a lot of his lower hips into the throw and elongates it. Throws from multiple angles effectively… Accuracy is so spotty and inconsistent that it’s painful to watch… His placement is not good. Vision is bad too. Tends to stare down receivers. Tries to force the ball too often… Stands well in the pocket. Too hesitant to throw most of the time… Shows good footwork for the most part. Not great out of the shotgun on a quick throw, which is probably why his accuracy is so spotty… Has the strength to shake off tackles and keep the play alive. Very stout. Throws very well on the move. Excellent downfield runner. Strong, instinctive, shows good field vision… No doubt that Bo Nix is an incredible improviser. This might be the best part of his game. Throws very well on the move… Extends plays with his legs and strength very, very well.
