Dylan Parham is a good bit undersized for the NFL level, certainly not weighing in among the top guards in the league. He’s looking to overcome that, as he has his entire career from being an overlooked two-star recruit to now being a potential NFL Draft prospect performing at the Senior Bowl. He’s spent time at right tackle and left guard, playing RT in 2020 (11 starts), LG in 2018/2019 (28 starts), before settling in at right guard in 2021. Per Senior Bowl Director Jim Nagy, Parham plans to be taking reps at Center in the Senior Bowl.

Parham projects best as the right guard in a zone-scheme. He appears to be right-side dominant and much more comfortable on the right side, posting not only his best numbers while playing on the right side from a PFF Grade standpoint but rising his stock from a PFA to a potential mid-round pick.

Dylan Parham Scouting Report

Average speed. Was asked to pull a lot and oftentimes got into position but looked like he was a step short normally. Decent lateral quickness. Good upper body strength. Strong and stout lower body. Anchor is slightly above-average, works well to set and survives power.

Displays excellent bend while fighting with defenders for positioning. Recovery is average. When he’s overpowered, he doesn’t generally work back into the rep. Has a tendency to place his hands a little bit too high at times. Struggles with setting his hands well and locking the defender in, relies in a series of punches and overall intensity to keep the defender back.

Upside galore here as a potential blocker. Still a bit raw with his hands, but is still locking down defenders. Pass set looks good, though his hands tend to get a little bit high. Get’s downhill well. Wins with positioning and explosive leg drive. Hand placement leaves a lot to be desired as a run blocker, instead relies on his intensity to move the defender back. Displays an good understanding of offensive and defensive concepts. Does still miss some blocks and assignments to stunts.

What we want to see from Dylan Parham in Mobile

• Dylan Parham struggled with consistency, even with all of his experience. Perhaps the coaching change between 2019 and 2020 caused some issues with what he was taught, but he misses assignments and picking up defenders in his zone.

Pre-Senior Bowl Projection

As of now, Parham projects best as a high-upside right guard, a potential starter in two-to-three years. We like Parham as a third/fourth-round projection, perhaps an early compensatory pick. His run blocking will make him valuable to more physical teams who want to run first. In addition to that, his versatility will be invaluable to the NFL as well.
