Devin Lloyd Scouting Report

Excellent speed. Excellent lateral quickness. Reacts quickly to the flow of the play. Excellent upper body strength. Makes arm tackles with some ease. Very solid tackler for the most part. Doesn’t always show great wrap-up form, but finds a way to bring the ball carrier down.

Physical and fun. Solid pursuit defender. Excellent blitz timing. Demonstrates recognition of the scheme and waits for the blockers to engage. Plays good man coverage. Has the speed to stay with some receivers. Generally plays good zone coverage. Reacts well to routes in his zone, tries to keep the play in front of him.

Does need to be more mindful of his assignment instead of trying to help others. Recognizes plays quickly and effectively. Shows good instincts. Not the greatest at times. Misses assignments from time to time trying to read into the play. Consistency has to be a little bit better.

What we want to see from Devin Lloyd in Mobile

  • Just how fast is Devin Lloyd when he’s asked to man cover? There are some great matchups potentially for Lloyd to show what he’s capable of in coverage against both tight ends and running backs.

Pre-Senior Bowl Projections

Devin Lloyd is a field general who is the heart and soul of a defense. He plays very well across the field and has the athletic traits to be a solid starter immediately in a 4-3 defense.

Lloyd projects best as a first/second-round prospect, someone who should be off of the board by the 45th overall pick. We like his upside as a potential multiple-pro bowl player in the prime of his career.
