Travell Harris Scouting Report

Excellent speed. Very quick and fluid as an athlete. Very, very fast. Has excellent speed. Changes direction on one step. Ridiculous ability. Incredible body control. Shows some phenomenal movement ability, especially as a route runner.

Acceleration is great. So smooth. Very explosive athlete. Clean footwork through breaks and running difficult routes. So fluid and smooth. Ran a very advanced route tree between the two systems that he played in. Very nuanced route runner. Excellent release ability. Has a very strong stutter step that makes defenders hesitate.

Offers a good, strong catch radius. Goes low and high when needed. Struggled at times with concentration drops. Offers a solid deep threat as well because of his speed from the slot. Good field vision. Very creative after the catch. Very unpredictable. Capable run blocker. Fairly consistent. Struggled at times with the Cougars RPO scheme.

What we want to see from Travell Harris in Orlando

  • Travell Harris does such a great job setting up defenders with his release, the issue is that he very rarely faced press coverage. Can he get off of a jam? We’d like to get a very good idea of his ability in that part of his game in 1v1’s during this event.
  • We’ve talked about his release, now let’s extend that to his ability to catch through contact. Most of the time, Harris was targeted after being schemed open in space. His concentration drops came when he was anticipating a contested catch. Where is he in this part of his game? We’d like to get a good idea in Orlando.

Pre-Hula Bowl projection

Travell Harris would appear to fit in any spread-style scheme in the NFL, carving a speed role in special situations. He also offers some early special teams ability as teams try to allow him to adjust to the speed of the NFL. Speed can’t be taught, and Harris has it. That will give him a chance at the next level.

Harris best projects as a fifth/seventh-round pick. His lack of size and the dying slot position will play a slight factor in his projection, but we think he has the speed and athletic makeup to get a chance somewhere.
