Arron Mosby Scouting Report

Arron Mosby is a unique prospect with big time playmaker potential. After switching between DB, OLB, and DE, Mosby has adapted a certain role of versatility, solving multiple questions for NFL scouts looking at him. Over the past few years Mosby have proved his versatility through his pass rushing ability and coverage skills. Being a stand up DE has allowed him to make big plays, showcasing he has a specialty when it comes to punching the ball out.

Pros/Strengths: Mosby’s pass rushing ability is his strong suit, as well as his consistent ability to force TFLs and FFs. To be an elite pass rusher you need a certain mentality and competitiveness, which Mosby certainly has as he is relentless to the QB/RB every down. Mosby also proved he can compete with higher level competition. He excelled against two ranked opponents, being UCLA and Oregon. Being from the Mountain West, it was a big question mark whether he could step it up against the better opponents in the PAC 12.

Cons/Weaknesses: We will likely see Mosby transition back to a default OLB/off ball OLB. Due to his size, he would fit well in virtually any scheme in the NFL at LB. Unfortunately, Mosby has become extremely used to pass rushing and the DE position. The last time he played heavy coverage was in 2018/2019. The biggest question will be whether he can transition back into that role in order to fit with an NFL roster. Thankfully due to his versatility in the past, he should be able to transition easily.

Pre-Combine Projection

At the moment Arron Mosby has been ranked anywhere from a Top 180 prospect to a Top 500+ prospect. We really aren’t sure what we will get out of Arron Mosby at the next level. Personally, I can see Arron Mosby being drafted as high as Round 5. Mosby stirs up a storm with his length and speed every play and I think scouts will certainly see the value in him. Expect Mosby to get his name called on Day 3. Come combine day, Mosby should be able to showcase his elusiveness around the edge. In drills and with a 4.6-4.7 40 yard dash.
