Jerreth Sterns Scouting Report
Strengths- Good body control for his size. Natural pass catcher with reliable hands. Creates separation and gets open very easily and effortlessly. Willing to go up and battle for 50/50 balls despite his size. Isn’t afraid of the “moment”. Tracks the ball very well. Gets in and out of breaks fluidly
Weaknesses- Short. It’s as simple as that. Level of competition is top tier. Not a strong blocker in any sense. The lack of size, strength, and technique doesn’t help with blocking one bit. Doesn’t have top end track like speed for a deep threat.
Currently Jerreth Sterns is a 7th round pick/UDFA. Even after his incredible showing this season and this week at the Shrine Bowl practice, his height and lack of competition may hold his draft stock back. Sterns has all the makings of a late round gem. His ability to run routes with such nuance and precision should always give him a chance to stay around an NFL roster. Someone just has to give him that chance to show that regardless of his size, he can run them routes against elite talent.
