Brian Asamoah II Scouting Profile

Strengths- Two words come to mind when describing Brian Asamoah II, and they are FAST and PHYSICAL. For being a bit of a tweener at 6’0 220 lbs he packs a mean punch when he hits you. He is the kind of player that wants the ball carrier to double guess crossing paths with him. Hands down biggest sideline to sideline range in the whole draft class. Superior athlete. Shows flashes of elite pass coverage skills. Gets skinny in between the gaps and while working the perimeter. Possesses track like speed. Very patient tackler with good technique.

Weaknesses- Needs to work on using his hands more often to his advantage. Whether that to be more violet or a mix of new pass rush moves. Though being a tweener has its benefits it also has its disadvantages. He doesn’t possess the power you’d want from your linebackers. Often has problems shedding blocks. Can get over agressive in pursuit of the ball carrier at times.

Pre-Combine Projection

As of right now, Brian Asamoah II is projected as an late 2nd/ early 3rd round pick. Asamoah is a linebacker with exceptional atheltic ability which allows him to be a top notch sideline to sideline player who displays his blazing closing speed towards the ball carrier. Physical tackler who isn’t afraid to to impose his dominance. Is a bit undersized for the position and can get over powered at times, but in the NFL Asamoah will most likely start as a 4-3 WILL linebacker which will keep him away from strong side blocks, and allow him to stay in coverage more often. With the leadership skills he possesses, he could become a team captain and field general of the team who drafts him.
