Cary Angeline Scouting Notes

Transfer from USC, where he redshirted in 2016 and sat out 2017 to transfer rules. Utilized inline and out of the slot. A little lazy as a route runner. A very passive blocker. I don’t think he’s quick enough to be effective as a slot in the NFL. A little heavy and not very athletic. Decent pass protector. Flashes an excellent catch radius and an ability to make good catches. Does not move well laterally. So close on blocks to allowing the play to get blown up but handles it to the last possible second. It makes me think he’s going to struggle tremendously with that at the next level. Again, that last second “hold the block” really concerns me. Good hands. Always seems to fall forward when being tackled. Doesn’t hold up well as a blocker against edge rushers.
