As OTA’s begin in Berea, Ohio, there is already a flurry of news and notes to be covered for the Cleveland Browns. NFLSapient is here to break down everything and let you know how it will affect the Browns’ 2022 season. Always stay tuned for the latest news and notes.
The last big roster-building piece has finally been knocked down. Jadeveon Clowney is returning to play as a Cleveland Brown. It is a one-year, $10 million deal for the veteran with $1 million in additional incentives. Bringing Clowny back opposite Myles Garrett is enormous for this defensive line that lacks depth. It is also vital to developing 2022 draft pick Alex Wright as he now has two elite veterans to learn from.
New Exciting Offense
It is nice seeing the offense being installed with the new quarterback this early into the
Offseason. Watson brings an elite level of athleticism that Stefanski is already hard at work trying to unlock. Most prominent players on the offensive side of the ball were in attendance, minus David Njoku. Njoku is currently in the negotiating process on an extension with the franchise.
David Bell Breakout?
In the latest installment of Building the Browns, we saw Kevin Stefanski praise David Bell as his own top choice at wide receiver in the draft. Here we see the rookie immediately getting into action with Watson. With a limited wide receiver room, I would expect Bell to make an impact early in the 2022 season.
Lots of Choice on Offense
This offense is going to be very exciting to watch on the field this fall. I would expect that we will see Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt on the field a lot. 12 and 22 personnel may be the bread and butter for the Cleveland Browns in the 2022 season.
